I have a unique ability. I lucid dream ideas for new projects. When I have these dreams, I guide the story, add characters, and form arcs. Last night, I had a great dream I would like to turn into a novel or maybe screenplay. Not sure when I can get to it because I am working on four other projects right now, but I wanted to get it down for later.
Aliens have taken over the world. They were sick of watching us kill such a beautiful and special planet full of resources. They really didn’t want to invade and take over, but they felt they had to for our own sake. So they’re now our alien overlords, but they really don’t want to be. They’ve changed the entire world to one communist government with liaisons that act like mayors of different sections around the world. They’re hexagon shaped areas, no gerrymandering bullshit. Each of the liaisons were chosen at random out of a pool of people the aliens had watched for years. The people have no idea why they were chosen but most of them have a sense of responsibility, ethics, and a sense of service. This means that none of them are actual politicians or rich. In this new world, there are no longer any millionaires or billionaires, and there are no poor. Everyone is equal and their needs are fulfilled, so of course there are many, many problems.

The story will revolve around my protagonist, the alien liaison of the Pacific Northwest, and his alien counterpart. The hero of my story has to explain why humans have been doing what they’re doing all this time. Why do we live in a system where the people who work the hardest make the least while the rich keep getting richer just by having money. Why did we base our entire economic system on shiny objects like gold and diamonds? And how did we change it to be based on small pieces of paper that mean nothing? Why does 84% of the planet believe their imaginary friends are divine entities that guide their lives? Our hero discovers that all the alien civilizations in the galaxy have come to the agreed conclusion that earth is an insane asylum, every single human is insane, some just manage their insanity better than others.
